Worship Team
Our Vision is to be a team of Christians who are committed to loving God, caring for one another, and working toward excellence in order to lead the people of Vineyard City Church into an authentic expression of love for Jesus Christ in worship. Our Mission parallels our Vision -- the priorities are to love God first, then one another, and then we work toward excellence. We apply these priorities not only to the band, but to our technical servers in this ministry as well. We have a sound team and a video team who are as committed as our musicians and singers to help create an environment where worship will flourish. To round-out the worship ministry we have an intercession team -- gifted prayer warriors, who pray for us regularly. Their value to us is immeasurable! We Pray and Practice: Every Tuesday night the band gathers to pray and work on the songs for the following Sunday. Some weeks the group is a full band--acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, bass and drums, percussion, and singers. Other weeks it is a much smaller group--one or two acoustic guitars, light percussion and one or two singers (and variations in between). |

Regardless of the size, the heart of worship is always large and the desire is to lead the people of Vineyard City Church into His presence when they gather on Sunday morning. We always begin our practice time by praying for each other and the church. We often will worship together or have a short devotion before diving into the week’s setlist.
We Set Up for Church: Every Sunday morning, the sound and video teams arrive early (7:40ish) along with that day's worship leader. They set up the necessary sound equipment for the morning. The band arrives a bit after 8:00 to set up their instruments, and some of the intercessors arrive shortly thereafter.
We Worship and Pray Together: At 8:15 we have our "circle time" (no one has come up with a better name yet!) when all the teams for the morning gather together to worship and pray for about 30 minutes. This time has become such an important part of the life of the Worship Ministry. Worshiping and praying together before the service provides a bit of quiet before a very busy morning; it allows everyone’s hearts and minds to come together and focus on the Lord, to pray for the service and for each another.
All Systems Go! At 8:45 we start our sound check and then run through the songs one more time; this not only helps the band, but it also gives the sound team a chance to set their levels and the video team to run through the various slides for the day. We have a short break, and then begin the service promptly at 10 a.m. Our worship set is usually 30 minutes long.
We Tear Down: After the service ends at 11:30, everyone helps to tear down. The band is responsible for their own equipment, and also helps the sound team tear down the system. It’s a team effort all the way around!
